A multi-stakeholder workgroup convened by the STRONGER Board of Directors has developed updates to STRONGER’s Air Quality Guidelines. The Air Quality Guidelines were initially developed in 2014 with an emphasis on VOC and HAP emissions. The updates are intended to expand that scope to include methane emissions from upstream oil and gas operations.
The update effort began with an open survey to interested stakeholders to gather information and help inform the workgroup’s direction. The updates are based on the responses to the survey, and the technical expertise of the state, industry, and environmental representatives on the workgroup.
The updated Air Quality Guidelines will be open to public comment from January 2 – February 1, 2019. Interested stakeholders are encouraged to review the updated Guidelines and email comments to STRONGER.
— Comment period extended through February 22 due to partial government shutdown. —
