The STRONGER Board is pleased to announce that Ryan Steadley has been named Executive Director of the organization. Steadley, a 2008 graduate of the University of Oklahoma, has a background in organizational dynamics and content development strategies. Mr. Steadley will lead the organization as its first Executive Director. “I am very pleased and excited to be a part of STRONGER,” said Steadley. “This organization has accomplished a tremendous amount in the regulatory landscape of American oil and gas development, and I look forward to building on our role in state regulatory review and improvement.”
STRONGER was formed in 1999 as a non-profit, multi-stakeholder organization comprised of representatives from the oil and gas industry, state regulatory agencies, and the environmental community. Together these stakeholders develop and share innovative techniques and environmental protection strategies, and identify opportunities for state program improvement.
STRONGER has reviewed twenty-two state programs, representing over 94% of domestic onshore oil and gas production. Added Steadley, “STRONGER represents a significant value to the regulatory community. We have just completed a new section of our Guidelines covering Air Quality issues, and we have a workgroup addressing Fluids Recycling. Increased domestic shale oil and gas production has brought into sharp focus the importance of evaluating state regulatory programs to ensure that they keep pace with development. STRONGER stands ready to assist the states in any way it can.”
